To mark the upcoming release of ACROSS TUNDRAS‘ brand new album, Sage, Neurot Recordings are now hosting another free track for all to consume. Check out ”Tchulu Junction,” as well as the already-released “Hijo de Desierto,” at the ACROSS TUNDRAS artist page now. Spread the word like the plague and help us count down to the release of the mighty Sage, set for North American release on Tuesday, May 17th, and one day earlier in Europe.

Capturing ACROSS TUNDRAS‘ heritage perfectly, through an amalgam of haunting doom-tinged Americana, melding echoes of traditional country, blues and psychedelic sludge. ACROSS TUNDRAS: Album Details Unveiled; American Tour Confirmed

As previously announced, ACROSS TUNDRAS have signed with Neurot Recordings for the release of their newest full-length opus, and we now proudly unveil details on this beautiful display of purely organic atmospheric rock.

The sprawling, seven-song album, entitled Sage, is now officially confirmed for North American release on May 17th, 2011. Neurot label owner, Neurosis’ Steve Von Till, exposes a bit of insight on the new album: “Lurking somewhere between unearthed, aged, haunted Americana and the psychedelic sludge scraped from the edges of the cosmos, Across Tundras’ new artifact Sage explores new territory, that while at once, rooted in history, and soaked firmly in the rich soil they cultivate, rises above the arcane to the sound of what will become.”

Neurot Recordings Sign ACROSS TUNDRAS

Creating unique moonshine-soaked organic rock in the hills of Tennessee, ACROSS TUNDRAS seamlessly meld classic rock, folk, country, psychedelia, and doom into an original, organic style of rock that defies classification and bleeds true Americana. In true nomadic style ACROSS TUNDRAS have previously set-up camp on multiple labels including Crucial Blast and Forgotten Empire, have now found a home with Neurot Recordings.

Stated Neurot/Neurosis’ Steve Von Till on the signing: “It is with great honor that Neurot Recordings welcomes Across Tundras to our home. Their past releases have shown immense dedication to spirit and commitment to growth and sonic evolution. Those are traits that we admire and look for when declaring kinship among those also on the quest for emotional release through sound.”

ACROSS TUNDRAS’ Tanner Olson this week also made a statement on their induction into Neurot’s family: “The opportunity to stand alongside such a talented and driven group of artists and musicians is something we have been working along time for. Lots of shows on the horizon - we will be playing regional shows nearby Nashville in these 1st few months, then an Eastern U.S. tour will be booked.

New Across Tundras blog

Hello cowboys/girls,

This is the brand new Across Tundras blog. There is not much of interest up here yet, but we will be adding new features everyday. This will have all the usual things like tour dates, pictures, and up to date information on the band... as well as cool stuff like free and exclusive music downloads and special offers/giveaways.

AT have been hard at work this summer writing for a new full length record we plan to record this November with the incredible Sanford Parker @ Volume Studios. Keep your eyes peeled for label and release announcements. It promises to be the best Across Tundras work yet and having Mr. Parker record it should take the sounds to new levels!

Shannon and Tanner have also been hard at work recording the Brightstar debut EP @ Headley Grange Studios in Joelton, TN. Brightstar is the personal project of Shannon Murphy who has been singing for years with Across Tundras.
